Ship stats and components
The Star Hunter spacecraft serves as the player's primary means of space travel, exploration, and combat. The ship’s stats define its performance in various situations, from engaging in space battles to transporting cargo and using advanced technology. Let's look at the ship’s key attributes and how they affect gameplay:
REACTOR RATING (C-Class)
The Reactor Rating determines the amount of power the Star Hunter can generate to operate its systems, including weapons, shields, propulsion, and other essential ship functions. A C-Class reactor indicates that the Star Hunter has a moderate energy output, balancing between efficiency and power, allowing it to handle most standard spacefaring tasks. A greater reactor will be required to travel deeper into the universe of Lunaris.
STANDARD SHIELD (10)
The Standard Shield rating of 10 reflects the ship’s defensive capabilities, representing how much energy is dedicated to protecting the hull from incoming attacks. Shields absorb damage before it impacts the ship's hull, giving players time to react, repair, or escape in dangerous situations.
Defence Against Attacks: With a shield rating of 10, the Star Hunter can withstand moderate damage from enemy fire. This rating means that the first 10 points of any attack from an enemy is ignored. Any attack above 10 will damage the crafts hull.
HULL INTEGRITY (15)
The Hull Integrity rating of 15 measures the durability of the Star Hunter’s physical structure. This stat determines how much damage the ship can take before it is destroyed. Essentially this is the health of your ship.
Durability in Combat: With a hull integrity of 15, the Star Hunter can take a fair amount of damage before being destroyed. However, prolonged combat without proper management or repairs can leave the ship vulnerable.
Repairs and Upgrades: Players will need to manage their hull carefully to avoid heavy damage. Players may also upgrade or reinforce the hull over time to increase its integrity.
WEAPONS SYSTEM
The Star Hunter is equipped with a variety of weapons, making it capable of handling combat situations. Each weapon type has a C-Class designation, indicating its general power and versatility.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Primary Attack (Beams - C-Class): The primary attack uses beam weapons with a C-Class power rating. Beam weapons are likely precision energy-based attacks that deal moderate damage over time, making them effective against shields and weaker enemies.
Damage Output: The beams deal 1d4 damage, meaning their damage potential is limited, but they have unlimited ammo, allowing for sustained use in prolonged battles.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Secondary Attack (Blaze - C-Class): The Blaze secondary attack likely involves a rapid-fire or area-of-effect energy burst, also rated as C-Class.
Damage Output: Like the primary beams, the blaze weapons deal 1d4 damage and also have unlimited ammo.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tertiary Attack (None): The lack of a tertiary attack limits the ship’s offensive versatility. While the Star Hunter has primary and secondary weapons, it doesn’t have a third option, however, all three slots can be upgraded allowing you to install 3 separate weapons.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CARGO CAPACITY (15)
The Cargo Capacity rating of 15 refers to the amount of inventory slots available for storing goods, resources, or equipment on the Star Hunter. With a capacity of 15, the ship can hold quite a small amount of cargo. The cargo space is shared between all crewmates so players will need to manage their cargo wisely or offload it regularly at space stations or trade hubs. Players can increase the cargo capacity through upgrades and via abilities found in the Star Hunter Shakra tree.
TECHNOLOGY SLOTS (5)
The 5 technology slots on the Star Hunter represent the number of spaces available for installing technological upgrades or modifications. These slots can be used to install a variety of tech modules, such as improved shields, weapon upgrades, mining capabilities and better scanning. Players can tailor their ship to suit their preferred playstyle, whether they want to focus on combat, exploration, or trade.
With only five slots, players will need to make strategic choices about which upgrades to install. As with other equipment such as your xenosuit or utility gun, the Star Hunter can be upgraded to have more technology slots and cargo capacity.
